Why green silicon carbide F80# can be used for sand blasting Knife slot?

The sandblasting tool slot is preferably made of green silicon carbide. The key feature is that it is extremely hard and sharp, self-repairing continuously, heat-conductive and heat-resistant, with uniform particle size, and chemical stability. This perfectly meets the strict requirements of the tool slot for high precision, high efficiency, no damage, and consistency.

1. Hardness and Cutting Force:

Hard and sharp, highly efficient for grooving. With a Mohs hardness of 9.4–9.5, it is second only to diamond and cubic boron nitride, and far exceeds ordinary corundum and glass beads.

The hexagonal crystal structure and sharp edges of the abrasive grains allow for rapid cutting into carbide/high-speed steel grooves, efficiently removing oxide scale, weld slag, burrs, and built-up edge, with minimal slippage.

For carbide grooves (high hardness, prone to chipping), it provides rapid grooving without damaging the substrate cutting edge.

2. Self-sharpening:

Continuously sharp, stable efficiency. During sandblasting, the particles are micro-fractured, continuously creating new cutting edges. Unlike ordinary abrasives, it does not dull quickly, maintaining stable cutting force even after prolonged operation, making it suitable for batch grooving.

3. Thermal Conductivity and Thermal Stability:

Prevents overheating and deformation. With a thermal conductivity approximately three times that of copper and more than three times that of alumina, the frictional heat generated during sandblasting is quickly dissipated, preventing localized overheating, annealing, deformation, and hardness reduction in the groove.

Melting point 2600℃, stable operation at **1900℃**, no softening or oxidation during high-temperature sandblasting.

4. Uniform Particle Size:

Consistent Surface, Controllable Precision. Industrial-grade green silicon carbide has an extremely narrow particle size distribution and uniform particle size, ensuring consistent sandblasting impact.

The inner wall roughness of the cutter groove is uniform, without variations in depth or over-etching, meeting high-precision groove shape and dimensional tolerance requirements. The entire process from coarse cleaning to fine finishing can be controlled through different particle sizes (coarse sand for removing excess scale, fine sand for finishing).

5. Chemically Stable: No Corrosion, No Residue. SiC purity ≥99%, acid and alkali resistant
